GMP-based special functions library?

    Maybe you could have a look at MPFR www.mpfr.org ?

Good hint. Apart from MPFR which I recommend, other packages using GMP are
Maple, Mathematica, GiNaC/CLN, iRRAM, NTL, GP/Pari, i.e. almost all
participants to the "many digits" competition:
