GMP versions of lapack routines

Hi,

I am toying with the idea of creating GMP versions of a few LAPACK
routines; specifically, DGEEV, a matix eigenvalue solver.  But 
-- before I start -- has anybody done this before? I was unable 
to google anything.

Is there a related project?

If I do go ahead and do this, what's the best place to publish 
the source code? I'd like to put it somewhere where it is visible,
so others could find it.
