All tests passed on an AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2800+ running Fedora Core 4,
both with GCC version 4.0.1 20050727 (Red Hat 4.0.1-5) and with the
Intel C/C++ compiler version 9.0.25 (configured with
CC=icc CXX=icpc LDFLAGS=-O0 ./configure, where the LDFLAGS option
is to get around a bug in the liker already reported to Intel).
