Permission denied on a.out in ./configure

Apologize. Turns out I jumped the gun. I just realized that gmp.so is
already installed on DreamHost shared servers so it was as simple as adding
"extension=php.so" php.ini to load it. This may still be legitimate
question worth answering for others, but I no longer need it answered.
