Support for wchar_t?

Greetings!

Are there any plans to add support for wchar_t to GMPlib and its C++
interface? (Specifically: Setting the value from a std::wstring or by
operator>>(std::wistream), and getting the value as a std::wstring or by
operator<<(std::wostream).)

Or should I (try to) hack conversion wrappers around the functionality for
char already privided by GMPlib? Has anybody done that before? Any hints
and tips that may help?
