--enable-nails

Hi,

has anyone already worked with GMP and enabled nails and gained experience
concerning speed differences compared to disabled nails?

Especially I am interested in using nails for adding/substracting short mpf-
floats (up to 106 bits resp. 3 limbs without nails) to a large mpf-float
(round about 4000 bits). The only benefit seems to be a faster adding of
the three concatenating limbs, since no carry-propagation between the limbs
takes place. On the other hand there is an extra carry handling necessary.
