Suggestion for building GMP with MSYS and MinGW

I was reading the archives and I noticed a few messages about people having 
problems building GMP with MinGW.  A while ago I was trying to update from 
GMP 4.1.0 to GMP 4.1.2 on windows.  I could not get a working version built. 
  The build itself seemed to go fine, but I kept getting errors when I tried 
to run my application.  Eventually I tried downgrading my version of MinGW 
from 3.0 to 2.0, (2.0 was the version that was used to build GMP 4.1.0).  It 
worked.  The version that I built with MinGW 2.0 has had no problems.

If you have been having problems, I suggest you give that a try.
