GMP repository

Thanks to the hosting of the gmplib.org site at the KTH (the technical
university of Stockholm) we are now able to provide read access of the
GMP repository, as well as provide downloads directly from
ftp.gmplib.org in addition to the GNU project download sites.

We silently opened this access a few weeks ago, but now when GMP 4.3 is
out, we have reorganized things somewhat:

There are now two Mercurial repositories, one simply called "gmp" and
one called "gmp-4.3". Please see http://gmplib.org/repo-usage.html for
instructions on how to access these.

Suggestions are welcome. Please direct them to gmp-devel at gmplib.org.

(We have been asked why we use Mercurial and not subversion or git. The
answer is that we think Mercurial is the best SCM system today.
Subversion targets cvs users that don't want to learn a modern SCM
(although it has the coolest name!). Git is extremely large, with
hundreds of commands, and is hard to learn. Mercurial is minimalistic
yet powerful.)
