GMP build fail

The new compiler on spe191 leaves many things to be desired.  I
segfaults for many C source files, and apparently it cannot read
files from stdin.

  spe191> ./config.guess
  cpp: "", line 0: error 4021: Unable to stat .
  hppa2.0w-hp-hpux11.11

That is caused by the stdin problem.
