gmp configure problems

Are you sure you need the --build option? It makes sense to use --host
sometimes (but clearly that's already correctly guessed by GMP here).
tmp-cntlz.s:73: Error: unknown opcode `subq'
Weird, subq existed since the very first version of Alpha.
If you CPU really implements Alpha, then I cannot see how it could do
away with 64-bit subtraction. Or perhaps this is just a bug in the
assembler?
Out of curiosity, which other instructions does it fail to assemble? A
'make -k' would help here, but be sure to save the output since it will
else scroll of the screen.
