Bill,

Even if your bug report contained all we ask for (thanks!) we cannot
work on this, since none of us have access to *any* OSF1 system, much
less your compiler.

Usually, this type of problem is due to compiler bugs, but then again,
some are due to real bugs in the GMP sources.

It is somewhat odd that you strike a bug related to mini-gmp, which is
more conservatively written and might therefore be less likely to
provoke corner case compiler issues.  It is also compiler without
optimisation, which should skirt many compiler bugs.

We might be able to solve this together, but then you need to follow up
on our inquiries.
