Actually, if you start from either /usr/sfw/bin/gcc or Sun Studio, mpc
will cause the gcc build to fail. Supposedly the issue with gcc is fixed
in the development version of mpc, and a bug has been filed with gcc for
the Studio issue. Downloading a precompiled package remains the easiest
way to get a newer gcc.
