I am only a lesser Unix wizard and I have no pressing need for gmp so
please don't take steps just for me; but this may help.
'make check' ceases with the last lines being:
_calling_conventions_save_ebp
_calling_conventions_save_ebx
_calling_conventions_save_edi
_calling_conventions_save_esi
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [t-bswap] Error 1
make[3]: *** [check-am] Error 2
make[2]: *** [check-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: *** [check-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [check] Error 2
I am guessing that this is different than the Mac OS report already
listed in the "known problems".
