installation problem for gmp version 4.2.1 on itanium2

Hi,

This problem concerns gmp version 4.2.1.

Two (independent) attempts to install gmp on an itanium2 processor 
running unix, failed.

 From the install directory for gmp version 4.2.1 I did \some standard 
stuff:

./configure prefix=the install directory
make

The error occurred during the make.  There seemed to be a problem with 
access in
mpn/m4-ccas, that's why ssubsequently we tried chmod. But the error 
persisted
(see below) .
