Vincent Lefevre <vincent at vinc17.org> writes:
It seems that autoconf 2.59 (which was used to build the configure
script provided in the GMP 4.2.1 archive) is either buggy or too old.
I have no such problem after regenerating the configure script with
autoreconf (autoconf 2.60 is installed on my machine).
I have just one machine on which I can test this on, and I would like
to keep it pre-patch so that we can make sure it works with and
without the problematic Apple patch.
Could you try to locate what the critical difference between 2.59 and
2.60 that solves this?
I do not dare to upgrade from 2.59 for GMP 4.2.2, from experience
upgrading autoconf breaks things. Instead, I'd like to extract the
relevant change, and put it in our (already patched) autoconf.
