configure option to disable the documentation build?

Hi all,
is there an configure option to disable the documentation being built?

As we have to build GMP also on platforms where package "texinfo" (tool makeinfo) is not available
we would like to disable the usage of makeinfo.
We couldn't find any option for this by
  configure -help
reading the manual nor by diving into the sources of  configure.*, Makfile.*
