At a minimum, get a grasp of the semantics of the functions that are
involved in your changes.  That advice goes beyond GMP; knowing what
your changes do is always a good starting point.

And then, when you are convinced that your changes make sense, run the
GMP testsuite.  If it fails, please don't send in your patches.

Your patches are hereby rejected because they are incorrect.
