yes, but overall, it makes no real difference to the end result. people
targeting these systems have to be aware of & handle these issues themselves
because they're going to try and build a large code base where there isn't a
responsive upstream. and very few (if any) upstreams are going to update
their build system & regenerate a new tarball just for this.
