Problems linking gmp

Hello,

I apologise if this has been discussed already - perhaps a pointer in the right direction?

Trying to compile gcc. Already installed gmp 4.2.4. gcc configure complains that gmp and gmp.h are mismatched. I cannot find a replacement for gmp.h in the tarball, unless it is gmpxx.h. Any advice?
