MPI and GMP

Dear Anyone who can Advise,
     Has anybody thought of implementing GMP with MPI(message passing 
interface) so
GMP based functions can scale across linux clusters, using total ram and 
all cpus?
Sorry, but I am ignorant about the total implementation details and 
source and assembly functions
of GMP; So I ask if anybody knows if this is at all feasible? (Ofcourse 
assuming a homogenous cluster or recompiling gmp and the programs 
running gmp
for each heterogenous machine)
