gmp_errno and Multithreading

There is a variable "int gmp_errno" declared in errno.c and I can't see any
multithread-aware logic that protects that variable from simultaneous usage
in different threads. Is it a bug or it's just low probability of such kind
of errors or I've missed something important in the code?
