gmp 421 on solaris 5.10 x86

i'm trying to install gmp 421 on a solaris 5.10 x86 pc (pentium 4).

i've tried with plain configure, and with .--host=none-unknown-solaris2.10
and -disable-static.

the plain configure got an assembler error something about a /var/tmp file.
the host-none & disable-static both got a make check problem
(libgmp.so: attempted multiple inclusion of file)

i'm using gcc which is linked with solaris ld. i  also installed gnu
binutils, they're in my path.

thanks for any clues. i am wanting gmp for clam av signature checking.
