Time for an entry quiz?

I don't want to discourage people from asking
questions on a discussion forum, but there's a lot of
traffic from people who don't seem to have read: "What
is GMP?" on the front page. Once over that little
hurdle, there are too many posts from people who
obviously haven't bothered to read the included
documentation, or haven't made a reasonable attempt at
isolating their problem.
Perhaps - and I know this may sound excessive - one of
the required entry conditions for subscription might
be to attach, say, one of the autoconf output files -
anything that at least suggests a user has made a
reasonable effort. Perhaps a shell script that creates
a file with the command line and relevant environment
variables listed. If the config or build fails, fine,
at least it demonstrates some effort.
I don't know if the moderators would consider this
appropriate, or even workable, but perhaps it's
something to consider, or ... discuss?
