Have you actually done,

  configure
  make
  make check

or have you tinkered with the build manually?

It might also help to check the output of configure, it prints
some useful information in the first ~50 lines.

If you have done just the above, and if your compilers work for
other compiles (please test that!) then please file a bug report.
The (online) manual tells you how to report a bug, and what
address to use.  (Good bug reports tend to trigger action, bad
ones tend to be ignored.)
