Why is it compiling GMP so hard?

Hello,

I also agree that it is relatively hard.

For a typical Windows user/developer it is uncommon
to install a shell or to run a shell command.
For them you either distribute a binary which is in
a .zip  file, or you have an installer.
Or you distribute source with a VC++ project.

And that's why people like Sysiphus or Brian
Gladman offer precompiled or VC++ projects.
