GMP Work

I enjoy using GMP and have some ideas for improvements, especially in faster 
multiplication.  I have a BS degree in math and working toward a Master's.  
Does anyone know any companies willing to fund this work, perhaps as summer 
intern?  I know that Maple and Mathematica use GMP, any others?  Thanks.
