Building on Win2k

I have built this without problems using MingW but I also
have a thing called "msys" that I downloaded from the MingW
site. I don't see how ./configure could work from the windows
shell. Without this "msys" I think the only other way for this
to work is through Cygwin. I could be wrong as I do not have
a lot of experience with these tools.
