Looking at the docs and wikipedia articles I can find, it seems PAC
instructions were introduced in ARMv8.3-A, and BIT in ARMv8.5-> and ARMv0.9-A.

And Apple M1 is ARMv8-4.A, so should have PAC but not BTI. M2 is
ARMv8.6-A, so it should have both, and I imagine all later processors
have it too. No idea about non-Apple processors (on portal.cfarm.net
there are various other brands of aarm64-processors, but no apple
processor more recent than M1).

Bill, do you know if some of the cfarm machines support these
instructions? https://portal.cfarm.net/machines/list/#, and list can be
