...but please don't report bugs in (current or as in your case extremely
obsolete) assemblers to us innocent GMP hackers!

I don't know what you're trying to get done, but starting with 10 years
obsolete software will mean you're on your own.  Here at the GMP bugs
list we are just interested in bugs in current GMP releases (not in any
other software's bugs, nor in obsolete GMP releases' bugs) and you will
find a similar attitude over at the binutils bug reporting list.
