Thanks guys;
I'm sorry for the post. Was working on this for two days and couldn't
find anything online. Based on the fact that two versions of gmp
failed, and the error message mentioning a path error, I replaced $Home
with the exact path and finally got gcc and gmp to compile. Though with
an older version of gmp. Will try 6.1 later today. If I had waited
another 1/2 day before inputting this bug report I wouldn't have wasted
your time. I had another clue, in that make had worked without a
--prefix command in the configure. But I didn't want to install and
overwrite the operating system gcc install.
This is my first time building gcc from scratch. Thank you for your
support and patience.
Sincerely;
Kurt Sanger
