It is usually qemu that advertises the processor wrongly, but I guess Xen 
could be guilty as well, or have trouble with newer instructions... Is

No, sorry, this time was just random. This was just because the last 
release is getting rather old, a number of things have been changed since 
then, so it seemed worth checking before spending too much time 
investigating.
