We're trying to phase out everything but https downloads. If you really
need ftp, maybe use the ftp.gnu.org server or one of it's mirrors.
Assuming you distribute the expected hash in some reasonably secure way
in the openwrt tree, I guess there should be no with lack of
authentication in the download protocol.
