./configure fails on SCO Unix 5.0.6.

After executing the following command, configuration fails on SCO 5.0.6:

./configure

OR

./configure --build=i386-pc-sco3.2v5.0.6


I get the following error at the end of the configure script:

configure: creating ./config.status
./config.status[410]: : is not an identifier


So far, I have not had any other problems building tools on this system
using the ./configure, make, make install process.  I can either attach or
paste the config.log file here if needed.
