Problem building gmp-5.0.2 on qemu-kvm

Hello,

I am having problems compiling gmp-5.0.2 on qemu-kvm.

I tried compiling from source on FreeBSD 8.2 and Debian Squeeze 6.0.3
both 64-bit but during the configure stage the ABI is detected as
32-bit. The configure fails miserable shortly after that.

GMP version: 5.0.2 fetched from ftp://ftp.gmplib.org/pub/gmp-5.0.2/
QEMU-KVM:
