But doesn't the fact that I can use the identical system and
environment to build and test both gmp-4.3.2 and gmp-5.0.1 and ONLY
gmp-4.3.2 finds the installed gmp mean that something has changed to
the better in the gmp-5.0.1 autotools setup?
