Failed test: t-scanf

I suggest that you try to reproduce the problem without -O2 and
-fomit-frame-pointer, but adding -g.  If the problem does not happen
then, you've almost surely likely run into a bug in the aging compiler.

If it still happens, a session in the debugger should be able to isolate
the problem.

(It is known that GMP passes its test suite unless GMP is modified in
some way.)
