Problems building GMP

Dear Sirs,
 
I am trying to compile the GMP library and use it in my Microsoft C++ project. For that, I downloaded Cygwin,
and when I try to run the ./configure command as stated in the manual, I get the following error:
"could not find a working compiler, see config.log for more details."
 
Do you have any idea what could be wrong ?
