ERROR: incorrect plain product in test 54

This is with 99% probability a compiler bug.

I am not able to reproduce it though, unsurprisingly, since both bug
reports lack critical information.

(I wish somebody sometimes would isolate one one of these compiler
problems and report back to the GCC team.)
