Bug in configure script for PPC64 machines

That output looks exactly right to me.  GMP tries the 64-bit ABI,
but gives up since it cannot put the compiler in 64-bit mode.
Then it falls back to the 32-bit ABI but with applicable
64-bit instructions.

What is the problem?
