This is almost surely a compiler bug.  But one cannot be completely
sure without tediously investigating it.

I know it is not a very helpful answer; unfortunately, I don't have
time for isolating bugs that always prove to be compiler bugs, nor do
I have access to all bugware compilers even if I had time.

I'll change the advice in future GMP releases not to report FAIL
conditions, since I never do anything about them anyway.

The only role of "make check" should to warn users not to use the
compiled library.  It is not a user tool for finding GMP bugs.  The
GMP test suite never finds bugs in a released GMP (at least not when
run in the default mode).
