Well, the problem on Mac OS X is a real problem, whereas the ones
concerning the possible breakage due to SIGILL trapping are just
hypothetical ones.
If a system starts behaving in new and bizarre ways for old
interfaces, we have to decide whether to work around the new
behaviour, or ignore it. The world if bizarreness and bugs that GMP
lives in takes too much of my time away from making real progress on
GMP, but there is a limit to how much I wil let it distract me.
I suggest that you install GNU/Linux on your system, where signals
behave as documented in the signal(3) man page.
