Hi Torbjorn;

Just to wrap this nice conversation up. We've gone way too off-topic.
GNU, a free operating system?? Debian, you mean? Sheesh.

For your information, I'm a Linux (SuSE 9.2-64) user in the home front,
and I am using it right now to write this. I'm a Linux enthusiastic and
use it since mid-90s (I started with Red Hat 5.0, then moved to
Conectiva and now I'm a happy SuSE user). I love its robustness,
stability and user-friendliness. But I am not blind to its deficiencies
and flaws. For example, the lack of webcam support (hope you don't
hate webcam users, too). The lack of cedilla in my keyboard -- I need
it to write in my native language -- whilst all other accents work fine
(the cedilla used to work in previous versions of SuSE, but not anymore).
And, above all, the infamous "dependency hell" that prevented me so
many times from installing programs that I wanted to install (that is
what I meant to say when I mentioned the "Unix/Linux crap"). All these
issues are completely, or almost completely, unknown to Windows.
"From us" who? There are GNU applications for Windows if I am not
mistaken.
There is a difference between hating tobacco and hating smokers. ;-)
Many people use Windows because they have no choice, especially
in the work front.

A real free environment and free software champion would try to
show to as many people as possible how good and useful these free
stuff can be. Keeping Windows' users at distance won't get this
job done.
