I made that change, and re-built from scratch, but alas, the same tests
still fail.

% which as
/usr/bin/as
% as -V | head -5
/usr/lib/cmplrs/cc/cpp:
	$RCSfile: crt0.s,v $ $Revision: 1.1.21.11 $ (DEC) $Date: 1995/09/06 19:54:27 $
	queue.c	1.1 OS/SB Compiler 7/25/89
	$RCSfile: otscjmpuwind.s,v $ $Revision: 1.1.6.2 $ (DEC) $Date: 1998/04/10 19:22:52 $
	 DPML_Info: 79

"as -V" and "cc -V" don't print an actual version number; they just dump
the RCS strings of seemingly every source file used to build the
respective programs. (The output is >500 lines!)

I'll be happy to process them as you request.
